When is it recommended X-ray or tomography?

1
Routine check-ups
To evaluate the general condition of teeth and roots, even if there are no symptoms. Typically once every 6–12 mouths.
2
Hidden cavities
To detect cavities between teeth or under fillings that are not visible to the naked eye.
3
Periodontal disease (periodontitis)
To assess bone loss around teeth and monitor the progression of the disease.
4
Before dental treatments
For example, before extractions, root canal treatments, or the placement of crowns and bridges.
5
Dental implants
For precise planning of the implant position, evaluating the bone, and avoiding sensitive structures (such as nerves or sinuses).
6
Impacted or affected teeth
For example, wisdom teeth that haven’t fully erupted and may affect neighboring teeth.

Types of Radiographs:

Periapical X-ray

Shows a single tooth or a group of teeth, including the root and surrounding bone.

Bitewing X-ray (interproximal)

Ideal for detecting cavities between teeth and evaluating the alveolar bone.

Panoramic X-ray (OPG)

Provides an overview of all teeth, jaws, joints, and sinuses.

Occlusal X-ray

Used to visualize the entire arch of teeth on one dental arch.

Cone Beam CT (CBCT)

High-precision 3D imaging used in implantology, orthodontics, surgery, or complex endodontic treatments.

Digital Dental X-ray

At our clinic, we perform digital dental X-rays on-site, quickly and safely. These allow us to provide an accurate diagnosis and a personalized treatment plan for each patient.

Vatech Scanner

We use modern equipment that emits a minimal dose of radiation and provides high-definition images. A dental X-ray can reveal hidden cavities, infections, root or bone issues, and is essential before treatments such as implants, extractions, or root canal therapy.
